Job

There’s almost nothing more certain in life than suffering and then immediately we ask the question: WHY? It’s a question that haunts humanity: Why do bad things happen? There is an entire book of the Bible dedicated to this question (and related questions and implications). It is the book of Job. In answer to the question “Why do bad things happen?” God gives us a 42 chapter book, most of which is poetry. Victorian essayist Thomas Carlyle called the book of Job “The grandest book ever written with a pen.” Commentator Christopher Ash says “Job is to be LIVED in, not just studied.”
