Parking can be a challenge on Sunday mornings. Please respect our neighbors and park properly, especially leaving at least 3ft from bumper to driveway apron. For more parking help/information visit: newcitycincy.org/parking

Getting Ready for Sunday (Feb 20, 2011)

There is something special about the people of God coming together for worship (Hebrews 10:24-25). Thus, we hope that Sundays at New City are a highlight of your week. In an effort to help you get more out of it, we're posting a short preview of the upcoming Sunday gathering each week.

This week we'll be thinking about the Ascension of Jesus Christ, and the teaching will be based on Acts 1:1-11. To prepare, read the passage and think about the significance of Jesus' last words for the life and mission of the church. How does this affect the way you think about your own life's mission?

During our worship gathering this week we'll have time set aside for you to pray aloud. It's good to join our voices together in thanksgiving and intercession, and periodically we take special time to encourage you to pray for those things on your heart. This can be a really encouraging time for the church, as we lead each other in prayer. So please come this week willing to participate, and lend your voice to the "prayers of the people." Some things to pray for: the growth and health of our church, for changed lives in our congregation, for the city of Cincinnati and our neighborhoods in particular, for friends and family who don't know the Lord, and for those in our lives who are struggling, sick or hurting. We'll close this time by praying The Lord's Prayer together.

Songs we'll sing this week include: O Love That Will Not Let Me Go (see video below), How Great Thou Art, You Are the Light, Before the Throne of God Above, For Every Soul in Every Need, & Greater Than Our Hearts.
