New City Kids
We believe children are an important part of the church family. New City Kids is a ministry for our children and exists to help parents in discipling their children. In our nurseries and classes, children experience Christ through relationships, worship, and teaching. Our New City Kids workers and volunteers help children develop an age appropriate understanding of the gospel through learning activities and modeling of Christ-like behavior.
Children of any age are welcome and encouraged to be in our worship service, as they are able. New City offers classes for all children through the age of 9. The primary goal of the nursery is to offer a safe and nurturing environment for our young children. Each nursery is
staffed with a lead team member who has been through an application process, training, and a background check. Serving with them are volunteers from the congregation who love children.
New City currently offers five classes on Sunday mornings which are:
(1) Infants: 6 weeks to 14 months
(2) Toddler 1: 14 months to 2 years
(3) Toddler 2: 2 to 3 years
(4) Preschool: 3 to 5 years
(5) Children’s Church: 5 to 9 years
The toddler classroom and preschool classroom both offer a structured environment with a balance of play, worship, and studying the Bible together using the Show Me Jesus curriculum by Great Commission Publications. Children’s Church will be studying God’s word using the Jesus Storybook Bible Curriculum by Sally Lloyd-Jones and Sam Shammas.
If you choose to keep your children in the worship service with you there are worship bags are available for children. These bags are geared toward preschool and school aged children. They contain activities related to the worship service and are intended to engage children in this age range during the service. You may pick one up at the New City Kids Check-In table.
